Forthcoming Events
In most Academic years, two or three one-day symposia are held, one of which is in Edinburgh in mid-November when the Annual General Meeting takes place, and the others by invitation in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow, St Andrews or Stirling.
Subjects have ranged widely from archaeological and historical topics to ancient and modern Scandinavian literature, place-name studies and material culture.
Annual conferences have been held at various venues: Aberdeen, Argyll, Arran, Barra, Benbecula, Bettyhill, Caithness, Cumbria,Easter Ross, Galloway, Glenfinnan, Harris, Iona, Islay, Isle of Man, Lewis, Moray, Northumberland, Orkney, Shetland, Skye, Tiree and Ullapool

Rósa Þorsteinsdóttir, Icelandic folklore researcher, will give the Hermann Pálsson Memorial lecture "So is all the world a story: An Icelandic Storyteller's Life and Stories"
